Machado Asia Pacific BJJ Championships

We want to wish all our Team ISO Health guys the best of luck at this weekends Asia Pacific BJJ Championships. We'll post results as they come in!

San Shou

South Australia held its first San Shou event recently in Adelaide.

One of our guys, Dom Liddle, fought in the event supported by crew from ISO Health - his coach Matt Jones and his two cornermen Nathan Maddigan and Nae Semmans. The fight night was good, Dom fought really well and the result was actually a draw which was an accurate reflection of the intensity of his bout! Our boy Dom’s fight was the co-main event but the undercard was still a terrrifc series of matches too! The draw was a fair decision so we were all very happy with the way the night went.

The hardest thing was that we'd been training Dom for an MMA/San Shou style stand-up fight which with rules allowing takedowns, knees to the body and head and lots of clinching but less than 24 hrs before the fight we were told it would be changed to straight international kickboxing rules which mean't he was only allowed to punch and kick thus half his game (ie takedowns and clinch) was now thrown out. Inspite of the weird turn of events he still did great and to draw with his opponent who was a kickboxing specialist.

Well done Dom!

South Australia BJJ Titles

Congratulations to all those who participated and a big thanks to everyone who came along to support the guys competing. Every participant fought really well and we saw a terrific display of both ground work and clinching. It was great to see everyone push the action with a lot of great takedowns, transitions and submissions. Above all we were extremely proud to see everyone compete so intensly while displaying the highest level of sportsmanship.

We only had 7 guys enter but 4 of them came home with medals so that was truly awesome. The results were:

Gordon, Tristan and Andrew all fought really well but each one was only just edged out by their opponents. They fought great and we're really proud of all of them.

We also want to thank all the people who came long to lend their support to our guys, it was an awesome turn out with about 20 people there supporting our Team ISO Health competitors so once again THANK YOU!!!

Now we're firing up for Dom's fight on Friday night and then the Machado Asia Pacfic Championships the week after. I'm sure everyone is really excited and at the same time looking forward to having a chance to put their feet up!
